We had just dropped our car off at the Service Department for
warranty work (and more) one Saturday morning. We decided to go over to the
new showroom to look at Dakotas and Durangos.
The salesman (Tom) was a complete jerk. He was very patronizing to my wife.
He made it real obvious that it was an effort to go get the keys to a Durango
we liked.
When we asked to drive it, it was obvious he was not interested. He stalled
for a while, then finally said "Well, OK. But when we get busy later on, I
will have to spend my time with people that might actually buy one." His exact
words.
We drove it, we liked it, but he continued to lie about its features, size,
etc. So we did not buy from him. (Later that night, I had a phone message
from him at home that the width between the rear wheel wells is 78 inches! The
answer to a question he could not answer on the lot. Don't think so!!!)
We drove to several Dodge dealer in Dallas and Tarrant counties that day (and
ford, chevy, mazda and toyota). Later that same night, we bought a flame red
1999 Durango SLTPlus, 4x4, 5.9 from Fred Oakley in Irving.
I am sure glad Tom doesn't waste his time with people not out to spend real
money.....
