I just bought a 2000 Dakota from these guys. During the bargaining
phase of the deal, they basically refused to tell me the actual price of the truck.
Instead, they wanted to deal on the monthly payments and my trade-in. This is
tricky of them, because you cannot tell the actual price by the monthly payments
alone. At one point I asked for a calculator... when their head sales guy came over
to feed me a line of BS about how they couldn;t go any lower, and that they were
doing their best and would only make $50 on the sale, he snatched the calculator
away, claiming that it was broken. Seems to me like they just want to keep the
buyer from the real price. I could have pushed the point, i suppose... and said
that I wouldn;t even deal with them unless they told me the actual selling price,
but I just bargained to the monthly payments. Anyway, I got what seems to be a
cool truck... we'll see how it goes.
