Called dealership two weeks ago to make an appointment for our new '99 Dakota 4x4
(tranmission clunks, steering wheel is off center, and bed has some serious rattles--loose
bolts?). I was told to bring it in Aug 2nd.
Dropped off the truck 7:15 am Aug 2nd. Was told it would be completed that day. Arrived at
dealership @ 4:45 pm (they never called, so I just showed up). The service writer that took my
truck in the morning didn't remember me, nor did he have a clue what the status of my (wife's)
truck. Upon checking on the computer-- listed tranmission as ok (9:45 am), steering as
'hold' (10 am), and bed as 'hold' (10 am). Nothing was done on the truck. I asked to have it
brought up front as I am sick of their service, it sucks %$!@ and to top if off they lost my
keys!!! Took 45 minutes to an hour to find them. Similar situation happened 2 months ago
with our old RT. Brought it in for warranty repair work, it was there for 2 days and nothing
was worked on. I spoke to service manager, and he really couldn't care less. The old "I'm
new, nothing I could do, Sorry" routine. Other people waiting for their vehicles were
just as pissed off as I was (another lost key story, and not all work performed was requested
for another individual).
BEWARE BEWARE!!! Go to Carl Burger Dodge... I'll be there Wednesday 8/4/99...
