It was the last day of the month and I had been looking for a new truck for
three days. I had been all over looking at Chevy's, Ford's & Dodge's. I wasn't impressed
with the Chevy's & Ford's because of the smaller jump-seats in the back (which my 9 & 11
year old boys would have been cramped) or the smaller engines of the ones they had in
stock. I wanted my truck now not 6-8 weeks from now. Also I have seen tires on Matchbox
cars bigger than the ones on the Chevys & Fords. Then i made my second trip to Thompson
Dodge. The first trip was on a Sunday after closing time, so that one doesn't really count
as far as a sale. I looked around awhile and a blue 2000 Dakota struck my eye (cause blue
is my color). It had V-6,auto,pw,pl,cd,tilt,cruise and other little dudads that started my
heart a pumping. So i told the sales man grab the keys and let take this puppy for a spin.
Everything felt great, but there was still something missing. I had plenty of buttons to
push, the boys would fit in the back, 235's all the way around, no mirror on the driver's
side(by the way that means it's a mans truck), & it had some power......Ahhah!!! that's it
POWER. I wasn't settling for some power, I wanted Raw,Explosive, Horsepower. And there it
is a deep garnet red SLT with the new 4.7 liter Magnum & a posi rear, OH Baby. Wrap it up,
I know where it's gonna be parked tonight. It was the craziest thing, after going through
all the formallities, as i was leaving the parking lot it was kind of weird, I smelled
burning rubber & I had to correct the steering a little. The salesman nice, finance guy
nice, $2200 under sticker plus a bed liner very nice!!!! End of the month is always the
best time to get one off the lot. I know I used to sell them myself.
