This is not the first bad experience I've had at Whittier Dodge, but the most recent.
It's the only dealer in my area but I'm willing to drive wherever required to avoid this service department. I took my '99 Dakota in on Friday morning, my only free time because I go to school other days and work at night. I was told they were too busy and I should come back the following week. I was upset because they don't take appointments, but in my case they made an exception and I made one for the following Friday. I showed up at 8:00 sharp. There was a problem with the cruise control, in the morning it would not turn on until the truck warmed up. If the Truck was then turned off then on again, it would work fine. I told the service advisor Steve about this situation and pointed out that I had left the truck running so he could see the problem. I told him not to turn it off or else the cruise would work fine and they wouldn't be able to duplicate it until tomorrow. I filled out the paperwork
and he told a porter to take it to the back. I watched him get in the truck, move it around the corner and turn it off. WHAT AN IDIOT!!!! He hadn't listened to a word I said. When I made the appointment I had told Steve that I had to work that night and I needed the truck by 3:00. He said it wouldn't be a problem. I reminded him again that morning and again I was assured it was not a problem. I
called arounf 2:00 to see how it was going and he said they had just started looking at it but couldn't find a problem with the cruise. Of course the IDIOT turned it off. So I told him to pack it up, I was coming to pick it up so I could go to work. He said he would call shortly to tell me when it was ready. HE NEVER CALLED BACK!!! I had to call him around 5 minutes to 3:00 and he said OH!! let me go
see if it's ready. I was out of time. I had to borrow a relative's car to get to work.
This service department needs some serious help. To add insult to injury, when I got the truck back ON MONDAY!!!!!!! it had greasy fingerprints all over the hood, and grease on the carpet inside. Somebody please do somthing about these guys.
